It's that time of year again. Rootstech, the world's biggest genealogy conference is happening in Salt Lake City, Utah, between Thursday 6th and Saturday 8th March, 2025.
Although many of us this side of the Atlantic won't be able to get over to the US for the conference, that doesn't mean that you have to miss out on all the presentations and learning available at Rootstech. It's free to register as an online attendee at Rootstech, and that gives you access to all the online webinars which will be streamed live over the weekend of the conference, and the back catalogue of previous talks.
This year at Rootstech I'll be giving two presentations. The first is a panel discussion with two brilliant fellow genealogists - Claire Bradley of CB Genealogy in Dublin, and Ciara Chivers of Shamrock Roots in Northern Ireland. Together, the three of us will be exploring the crossovers between Scottish and Irish genealogical research, with lots of practical advice and tips for exploring your heritage in that part of the world. The discussion is called "Scottish and Irish Genealogical Connections", and will be live at 8.30 pm on Friday 7th March, UK/Ireland time.
The following day, Saturday 8th March at 3.30 pm UK time, I'm giving an individual presentation entitled "Top 10 Resources for Getting Started With Your Scottish Research - and how to use them without breaking the bank. As the name suggests, this presentation is about less often explored sources for your Scottish research which are free to access for all. Pick up some ideas about new sources for your own family history!
I'm very much looking forward to talking at Rootstech - it's shaping up to be a great weekend!
